Religion Again...Wish Politicians Could Grow Backbones In Their Kitchen...

Women covering their face due to their take on their religion. This is really addressed to both parties. The Conservatives for not having a backbone (which is out of character...) and the Liberals for the fact that they would have tried to use this against them for political gains...whatever they think that would have been. If Ipsos took a poll of everyday Canadians (and Americans...) asking what they thought of Frances stand against any religious body covering.....I'm sure you would find the mass majority would agree that Sarkozy has a set (of cahones) and is one hundred percent (100%!!) right in their view. When a Canadian votes...or does anything else requiring visual identification....they should not be allowed to cover their face. This being blamed on religion is a farce. It is uncomprehendable that anyone would think this is not a form of submission and a degrading thing. It makes me sick to see women covering their heads let the ones who cover EVERYTHING...even wearing gloves. I understand this is a small minority, the latter, but it happens. The Canadian government, in absolutely no way to speak of, should not respect aspects of religion that demean either sex. Obviously women are the more trodden on ones. It's sickening. Ontario thought about bringing in Sharia law...Om My God. Dalton came to his senses pretty quick after an outpouring of anger.....and coming to his senses. The government of Canada should grow a backbone....the opposition should agree.....and you should make a stand against any restrictive religion. I do not believe in any supernatural power but a good portion do. And the good portion of Canadians who do believe, worship unobtrusively. I kick one away from my door once in a while but that the way it is. When Muslim girls are forbidden from taking swimming classes or doing some type of job where a head scarf is not appropriate, they cannot partake...or they ask for special classes. Not good. Segregation. Most of the time, government sponsored segregation as they bow to their wishes, not wanting to upset anyone. This is an issue that would not create a huge backlash if they were asked to try and assimilate and enjoy the Country they are in. They or their parents or their parents parents came here for a reason. Freedom and a better life. No need for restrictive religious tenets here. Enjoy your freedoms. Call me what you want. I am NOT a bigot. I am just sick of spineless political parties and yes, the ever increasing visual signs of the Muslim religion dominating. I have nothing against the people. Just the religion. All religion really. It causes nothing but distress and money. Dalton should have grown a backbone and pushed through the one public school system. No religiously funded schools. Lots of quiet dissent over the amounts of money the catholic school system gets in Ontario. You want your child to experience your religion ? Teach them yourself or take them to church. What a thought. A secular country. Never going to happen, until it is too late. Freedom of religion....to practice on your own. There is nothing wrong with religion, as long as you keep it to yourself and your fellows. Worship whatever you want...just don't expect the government to bow to your wishes. Religion should not be restrictive, and the all governments of every level in Canada should recognize this. Voting dynamics will not change as no politician running for office could use religion as a tool to garner votes. It's so ridiculously easy it defies all logic. There is not one religion in Canada, as there is in most Muslim countries....and for that reason alone, we should have a secular government to run the country.
Kudos to France

As always, I sent this to a bunch of politicians. Nothing happens but it makes me feel better !!

What Color is The Sky in the Arts Community ?

$15,000 for a poop machine ? From Belgium ? Not even Canadian ? $40,000 for a flying Banana ? To be flown in Texas ? Not even Canada ?....................................Just stunned. Really. And the Arts community wonder why every day Canadians on the whole are completely ignorant when it comes to funding the arts at our expense. Just stunned. These are but a couple examples of ridiculous funding examples. I really don't think that the general populace is concerned about arts in tough financial times. Really. And if your going to spend money on the arts, make sure it is for Canadian art of a Canadian nature/origin and is being promoted/displayed in Canada. Honestly. I assume that the greedy music/movie industry is listed under 'the arts'. And they wonder why people illegally download music and movies. Movies at and average of $25 each on top of the average $15 each at the theatre and the $6 at the rental outlet and then the purchase to showing rights and subsequent advertising revenues on TV. Music at average $20/CD and then concerts at a ridiculous price and music downloads. And then you hear artists, driving mercedes, complaining about pirating. Makes me ill. Oh yeah. Can't forget the price gouging and highly illegal and greedy practices of Ticketmaster. Screwing us. This is why I buy my art at Walmart and listen to my music on the radio. Scumbags. The industry is worse than all other corporations who are trying to screw us. When you can pay an actor 10 million dollars for a movie, your pretty sure they are going to ultimately be bringing in 50 times that amount...plus. Royalties last forever. So maybe people should start railing against the 'arts' industry as well as other corporations. 'Struggling artist needs money' Fund them with government money ? No. Get a job that pays. Fund the arts ? Fund this.

Federal Governments Explanation to Taxpayers For Auto Bailout In Canada...

This is seemingly the governments form letter they are sending to people who are voicing their opinions about the crisis. So in all fairness I will show it. I highly doubt he wrote this to me personally..............

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the crisis facing the automotivesector in Canada.
Canada?s automotive industry operates in a highly integrated NorthAmerican marketplace. In this context, the recent liquidity crisis, together with the downturn in economic activity and the significant fallin automotive sales, represent considerable challenges for the Canadianautomotive industry. These challenges are compounded by the majorrestructuring efforts already faced by the industry in light of thevolatility of fuel prices and the growing investments required for newgreener vehicles.
The Government of Canada has already set a solid foundation for astronger, more innovative Canadian automotive sector, based on fourpillars: a competitive economic framework; North American integration;support for R&D; and an Automotive Innovation Fund to make Canada a leaderin cutting-edge and fuel-efficient technologies.
In recognition of the urgency of the current difficulties facing theindustry and the critical importance of the auto sector to the Canadianeconomy, on December 20, 2008, Prime Minister Stephen Harper and OntarioPremier Dalton McGuinty announced that the governments of Ontario andCanada would jointly provide $4 billion in loans, payable to GeneralMotors of Canada Limited and Chrysler Canada Inc. through ExportDevelopment Canada (EDC)
Prime Minister Harper and Premier McGuinty have indicated that there willbe conditions attached to this financing. The two governments willexercise oversight of taxpayer money as part of their ongoing duediligence. All stakeholders in the auto industry will be expected to dotheir part to reduce structural costs and ensure a viable auto industry inCanada. The government has also been clear that this support will becontingent on a commitment by the industry to long-term restructuring toensure a sustainable and competitive industry in Canada. They areexpected to provide detailed plans to the government by February 20, 2009,indicating how they intend to do this.
Prime Minister Harper announced two additional steps the federalgovernment will take to support the overall competitiveness of the autoindustry: automotive suppliers will have greater access to accountsreceivable insurance through EDC to compensate for the reducedavailability of credit; and the Government of Canada will create a newfacility to support access to credit for consumers, with particularattention paid to improving the accessibility of car loans and dealerfinancing. Details on this latter initiative have been provided in Budget2009, which allocates $12 billion for a Canadian Secured Credit Facilityto support financing of vehicles and equipment.
The government is committed to ensuring a competitive, sustainableautomotive industry and an environmentally sound future for Canada.
I appreciate receiving your views on this matter and trust that thisinformation is helpful.
Yours sincerely,
Tony Clement

The CAW's Sacrifice....LMAO!!!!

So the CAW leader hung his head dramatically and acted contrite and exhausted. GM said they were happy and hopeful. The government...both Federal and Provincial said they were happy. I strongly doubt the taxpayer is. What is the HUGE sacrifice ? No wage cuts....the same pay and contract for another what ? 2 years ? Then they are open to begin negotiating again for more money. They have to pay a few dollars extra every month for benefits. Have they lost a week of vacation ? This all said....they still make approximately $70 an hour with benefits......yes....I said $70 an hour. I can't even fathom that. You probably can't either. That is just the average. CAW says 'high 60's' Big difference there....eh ? I can't imagine what the higher paid people get. You are pretty much guaranteed quite a few get over $100/hr. That is just crazy. Really. And we are still to feel pity ? Not. The problem is that the taxpayers dollars are most likely going to go to paying a wage to the 50,000 plus retired employees (that's right...FIFTY THOUSAND) versus the wages for the 10,000 working employees. The last number is supposedly being whittled down to 7000 over a couple years. In all fairness the retired folks did devote time to a company to pay their bills and advance the profit of the company. They are entitled to their benefits. But if a company goes bankrupt they would be in the same boat as millions of other retired folks who rely on government retirement and savings and RSP's and so on and so on. 50,000 people being paid benefits and cost of living increases and so on and so on. I can only assume that the tab for that...yearly....would be in the billions. So it seems our money will be going to continuing a companies commitment to it's retired employees. Hmmm. Sales are down big time. Their own auditors are pretty sure they are still going to go belly up. And we are thinking of giving them billions of dollars. My parents live on a meager pension and manage. After each devoting their entire lives to one business/company each. Look at Nortel and their retirees. Are they going to get a govt bailout to support it's obligations ? Look at the 1000's of other companies that went belly up and the employees lost their retirement funds. I understand the CAW is militant in defending it's devotion to it's members. This is admirable. But it is time to wake up and smell the burning headlines. Their 'Sacrifice' is pathetic. I'm sure they are capable of seeing their situation through our eyes and realize this. Gm has failed. Too bad. It happens. Lots of people will lose work in the industry and related suppliers. It happens. They are grabbing at straws.
GM should sell it's elaborate offices and take up residence in less expensive rental office space.
They obviously should declare bankruptcy. You have to be blind to not see it coming.
The CAW should start focusing it's efforts on advising it's members to better invest money for retirement and not be beating a dead dog.
GM should declare bankruptcy quickly so they can get the ball rolling again on their re-org. The name GM will not disappear you do realise.
10' of 1000's of people are losing work across the country and this is all happening to keep work for 7000 GM employees (don't have numbers on suppliers) and to maintain the benefits of FIFTY THOUSAND retirees. All at unreal salaries.

Should they be bailed out ? Not in a million years. No. Not. Nada. Nyet. Take the money that the government is going to invest in GM and put it towards assisting other business's...with a future...in possibly expanding and taking on some of the employees who lost their jobs at GM and elsewhere. After all, GM will re-grow and a good chunk of these people will get their jobs back. Hopefully at a reduced rate also. It's just unrealistic to have these benefits and wages when the company itself has lost over 50% of it's business. Do they think that the public is going to be forced to buy new cars ? We can't freaking afford them. What are they going to do ? Beg the banks to give people risky loans to try and keep GM afloat ? Come on now. Just stop it.
Twits.

Yes..I still hate Unions...

Oh yeah....I still hate them. Especially in these times. Pushing for raises in these alarming financial times ? Really. Prison guards in Ontario do need some type of intervention and re-org but a 3.75% raise while people are being laid off left right and centre ? Nurses Doctors and Teachers all getting raises ? Can someone explain to me Dalton's thinking that giving these professions raises helps our economy. Seriously. Am I wrong ? Can someone explain this to me ? Maybe I'm wrong. I hate the man. He is a twit and should be removed immediately. He is doing absolutely NOTHING for Ontario. Nothing. Again. I would like to hear from anyone who thinks different. Really. I'm not perfect. I could be wrong. Wouldn't it be nice to see an Ontario Premiere who was charismatic and really pushed to get stuff done ? Where is he ? Can't say he is staying out of the media and getting stuff done in the background...'cause he isn't. Ontario is a manufacturing graveyard....desperately hanging on to the automotive sector, using our tax dollars. I could go off so much but this is supposed to be about unions.....I digress. SO.....a manager in the City of Ottawa....seemingly......supposedly......allows billions of litres of crap into the Ottawa River.....which for any non-Ottawenians is our drinking water source......go unreported for 1 (ONE) full (ENTIRE) year (365 Days).....A BILLION. He knew it. You know he did. The City knows he did. He's the manager...how could he not ? The City fires him and a couple others and reprimands a bunch more. Not like it was a witch hunt you know...But due to a lack of burden of proof.....and his union....(%^&^%$^#^!!!!!) the city is forced to give him his job back....the exact same position he had before.....did I say a BILLION ?? Did I mention I hate unions ? I honestly just cannot believe it. Really.

Can't They All Just Get Along ?...And Run The Country ?

Is it just me or does it seem that the only political work being done by the Canadian 'Opposition' these days is bitching ? Don't get me wrong....I know what their job is.....but come on now. Iggy is starting to travel Canada as tho' an election is coming up in a month and the Conservatives are starting an anti-Iggy campaign already. It seems it's all just about keeping....or getting into...office. I fully understand that's politics.....and thus the reason I hate it....but in these dire financial times they should all be showing a little more co-operation in trying to keep the country afloat. A pipe dream I know but wouldn't it be nice ? You know.....I would possibly even contemplate voting Liberal just for the fact that they publicly stated they were going to stop playing politics and work with our....and their.....government to try and make things better and pull us out of this slump. But of course, that has not happened and most likely will not. Iggy has stated that the Liberals were going to work with Stephen and his crew, but in no way sincerely. He is not the PM. His party is not in a position of power. Yet they have that attitude...obviously due to the possible toppling of the government that almost happened. Good for him on shooting that one down. He's actually trying to drum up votes across the country for an election that isn't even happening. People should email the Liberals and push them to stop playing politics and let the media focus on the present government and what they are doing to counter this recession. Stop trying to get your face on the news. We know your there. We like you better than Stephane. Don't expect a kudos for everything that you do. If the government gets something right...with your help...don't try and get your media guys to hammer that home via the news...don't distract from positive movement forward. I believe the Canadian populace is in desperate need of TEAMWORK and a visible showing of this....That goes for the Conservatives also. Stop your supposed anti-Iggy campaign approaching May (first 'report card'...) and concentrate your efforts on saving this Country from doom and gloom....with the Liberals. Maybe you can blame a lot of this childish political gaming on the media as they are our source for most info we get....but it is there and it is obvious. Stop campaigning and get the Countries work done. Be transparent. Let us know what is happening. Stop pussy footing around certain 'touchy' issues and stomp them out. Not everyone is going to like every decision out of Parliament but that is the way of the world. GIT ER DUN !! The Conservatives are doing a pretty good job right now. Now is not a time for political instability when the Country is suffering severe financial instability. Make sure your financial incentive package billions do not get squandered and are used properly. I certainly hope that Liberals and other opposition 'gamers' are being paid to keep quit via pet projects getting done with this money. It has to be used where it is needed. Please please please....stop your ridiculous political games (or at least keep them secret..) and work together to makes things HAPPEN. The following is a fine example of the antics in the Ontario Legislature....and you know it happens in the Commons also. It's sickening. Disgusting. And we are sick of it.....Stop the games and get shit done !!!!
(There's no hope in writing Dalton or any of the other political twits here as they are like a bunch of chickens running around with their heads cut-off...useless. The Federal parties are our only hope...that being only PC and Liberal by the way)

Ontario MPPs got a stern reprimand on Tuesday from the Speaker of the legislature, who reminded them words like "stupid" and "jerk" do nothing to enhance decorum at Queen's Park.

CBC News
Steve Peters took several minutes ahead of question period to appeal to provincial politicians to behave themselves and refrain from making personal and insulting comments toward each other during debate.
He also questioned the recent use of words and phrases such as "bamboozle and hoodwink," "bathroom break" and "booze cruise."
The legislature is a place to bring forward a variety of opinions that create passion and antagonism, but not "schoolyard name-calling," Peters said.

Letter to Randy Graham of atu279 re: Ottawa Bus Strike

This is a letter to Randy Graham...one of many vice presidents at the union....who is becoming just as bad as Andre Cornellier. He was brought in to supplant Andre as he is a twit and he is falling to Andres style of blame and callousness...These guys may be loved by their members as sincere and honest and caring...which they may be.....but when you are playing with the lives of 850,000+ people you are going to have to expect our rage.....twits. Sent this to the normal newspapers and others.

Randy,

You are grabbing at straws and it shows to people who have a head on their shoulders...as most people in Ottawa do. We are a government city...eh ? Kindly advise how Clive Doucet breaking ranks (and playing politics) from a team that is supposed to be cohesive and working together, and voted in by the people of Ottawa and seemingly working on their behalf, is any different from you cutting strike wages and berating a member who does not agree with your point of view ? Shame on you and all unions my friend. You are grabbing at straws and it shows.
"Randy Graham, international vice-president of the Amalgamated Transit Union that represents the workers, said Wednesday that he finds it unacceptable that a publicly elected official isn't allowed to voice his opinion of the situation"
This publicly elected official is just that. Elected by the public to represent us...the tax paying citizens who are being seriously affected by your unions 'irresponsible' actions. Just as you are representing your members. Would you dare go against the membership and say " This whole thing is not right...Andre is a twit and making us look bad and should not be representative of our team" Ummmmm no.
"The way they've treated councilor Doucet I think is appalling," he said. "They should be ashamed of themselves."
Shame on you and your members for the way they treat non-co-operative OC Drivers. You can deny this all you want but you know it happens. And so do we. You should be ashamed for holding 850,000+ (eight hundred and fifty thousand +) people for ransom. There are other ways to fight your fight whilst your members are back at work driving. You should be ashamed of yourselves for threatening pickets at educational facilities. Shame. You should be ashamed of yourselves for threatening to fight the cities attempts to assist our disabled residents. Shame. You should be ashamed for your public display of callousness and disregard towards the citizens who pay your members. Shame.
"He obviously doesn't get it, he doesn't want to understand it, he wants this to continue and we feel sorry for the citizens of this great city. They have been let down again by this council and this mayor and Mr. Mercier."
Do you honestly think rhetoric like this is productive ? Maybe to your members. Not the general population. We have not been let down by the City....we have been let down by your organization. I understand that it was not about money. Now seemingly the City is going to bend on scheduling but take away the bonus and Andre stormed out....We are tired of hearing you blame this on the City. atu279 are much more at fault than the City. You don't want to break and neither does the City. You both are stubborn and you see this as do we all. Unfortunately there are 10's of thousands more people behind the City, with absolutely no more power than their voice and emails. Thus we are being held hostage as you have the power by denying our public transit and gridlocking the City. Shame on you.
You will obviously get a scheduling system that is satisfactory to you. The public cannot take this much longer and the City realizes this, so they will have to cave. You will celebrate. I strongly suggest that you do not celebrate publicly. The last thing your image needs right now is a photo of union members toasting with champagne at their 'victory' This will cause unreal outrage and you would only be damaging yourselves further. Rather than a win/lose mentality why don't you go for fair/fair.
Stop blaming the public's misery on the City of Ottawa. This is your blame to shoulder. You cannot pull the wool over our eyes.

I'm still against the Ottawa Transit Strike...But...

I am vehemently against unions...especially the Ottawa chapter ATU 279 who are presently still on strike. It has gotten to a point where people are past uncontrollable anger. They are just disgusted. What can they do ? The union is simply not listening at all to us and will not cave. They won't. The City is partially listening to the people by not caving to the unions demands. Someone has to give. Something. The union is being a stubborn child who knows that if they cave their 'power' is diminished. If the City caves they are showing lack of control. I truly believe that the Mayor and 'some' of Council are not being political, and listening to the people they represent....who are angry and fed up with the union holding the City hostage. Look at the union's letter to secondary schools stating that if they accept City funding for assistance in transport, they will be picketed. (come ON !! this is not a direct threat aginst the populace ?) The City is contemplating bringing in non-unionised drivers to help with Para-Transpo....to help with the increase in disabled people requiring transport......disabled people......they too are being threatened with pickets and shutdowns as they are 'scabs'. God, I hate that word. union original. Anyways, you have drivers doing guest columns in the newspaper saying they are sorry for striking but they must continue. You have Ottawa councilors calling pretty much for the Mayor to step down (showboating Mr. Doucet...) You have the public being screwed in 500 different ways. The union saying the City must bend to their will. Stubborn children. At this point, the City and union should go back to the table and work out a 'Fair/Fair deal. Not a Win/Lose deal. What is also expected from the union is celebration. Their mentality through this strike proves that. Take this as you will but at this point it is expected, and tantamount to a terrorist hostage swap and the bad guys thinking it is a victory, and shooting in the streets and celebrating...even tho' they were the bad guys. If the union gets it's demands it should ensure that their members go back to work quietly. No celebrations. No pictures of union members drinking champagne. That will not go over well. The City should take away the signing bonus, give them back their 12.5 (?) hour shift (by removing the extra 1 (one...one...) hour) and adjust the scheduling so that it is a little more fair to newer drivers......junior this. The City will obviously get pressure to end it and cave a bit. But the union has to give also. Do the truce attempts in Gaza sound familiar ? hamas voicing it's demands but still not promising to stop the ongoing rocket attacks and still wanting Israel destroyed. Yes, I am comparing the two as it is similar. If Israel pulls out with no promise from hamas to stop their hatred, and attacks, there will still be celebrating of a 'victory'. This disgusts and boggles people. Such is the World we live in. If the City does end up bending a bit and taking it up the wazoo some, then the union should go back to work quietly....with no celebration. This will just look even worse on your membership. The City has done a good job of standing their ground but as a City Council, it must now think of it's population and end the strike. The union's image will be permanently scarred and there will still be fallout for some time after it's over. Hopefully a certain councilor (Mr. Doucet...) will be tarred and feathered for siding with the bad guys after this is all over. He should have quit politics in disgust if he did not agree with the Mayor and then voice his opinions against the City negotiating team and the Mayor. Bad form dude.

I still hate unions.
Up yours Andre.

Ottawa Councillor Breaks Ranks, and Should be Fired

This is an email I sent to a few news outlets and other politicians with regards to councilor Clive Doucets breaking from ranks and calling th Mayor 'out of touch'...what a freaking twit.....honestly. Just another politician who is using a scandal that is affecting 10's of thousands of people to advance his political ambitions......Unreal.

Clive,

I cannot believe that you are calling your fellow council members 'out of touch'.....
Are you 'out of touch' with what has been going on in the City ? Are you aware of the reasons for this strike at the beginning of recession ? In the winter ? Did the ATU invitation the other day happen for you ? Did you go and talk to them ? Did you go to the dark side ? What's up ? It's mind boggling that you broke ranks with your fellow council member's....and the majority of the populace of the City of Ottawa. Your political aspirations have over-ridden your common senses me-thinks. What are the chances we'll see your name on the ballot for the next Mayoral race in Ottawa ? Pretty good I would say from this point of view. Sad, sad way of thinking. You my friend are out of touch with the people you represent if you think it is the City and not ATU 279 who is 'out of touch'. We are being held for ransom by 2,300 city employees who don't give a rats fart about us. Their reason for putting it to the public (not just the bus riders my friend...) for this long shows that they are completely out of touch and ignorant to the publics views and concerns. Unions nowadays are completely out of touch with reality and their time has come and gone. Can you impeach councilors ? Maybe fire them ? You were somehow voted in so I would guess impeachment. Your damaging rant is something that would have been expected from Alex.. I guess he panicked when he heard your rant and had to jump on the bandwagon.....Mayor Alex ? Mayor Clive ? Sends shivers down my spine. If you have any conscience and sense of moral obligation, you would have your resignation on Larry's desk by Friday. If you don't like him, then have your assistant drop it off.

Ottawa's Out of Touch Bus Union...

They are still on strike. How many people have lost jobs ? How many business's have closed or are going to ? How much worse do unions look ?
It's hard to believe that the union refuses to come to terms with the fact that they work for an employer who wishes to take more control over their shifts. The scheduling issue is seemingly the main concern. How many people get to control their shifts ? You work when you are asked to work. If you don't like it, get another job. This has been said over and over and over, and some drivers keep saying we the public don't have a clue what we are talking about. I think it is these union members that do not have a firm grasp on reality. They are being brainwashed into keeping the status quo for about 200 or senior union members....out of 2300 on strike. It's just to the point where you can't even get mad anymore. I was furious up to a certain point. Now it's just numbing. Really. They are screwing an entire city...10's of thousands of tax paying citizens (who contribute to their salary by the way)....seemingly so they can spend more time with their family. Ask the people who work evening and night shifts and see their family sleeping when they come home how they feel. I had a job with an evening shift and tried to get to days but could not. I started looking for another job and eventually quit. Simple. I was making good coin with good benefits, but left. I didn't cry. I left. They say they are abused by the public. They are not abused any more than any other person who deals with the public on the front line of public service. Wait 'till they go back to work. Sure....they are going to have a campaign asking the bus riding public to be nice......good luck with that. Another thing that has been said about this union striking is the fact that we are in a recession and people are losing their jobs by the boatload. They should be happy they have one. This privilege should be taken away from them. Almost 80,000 people lost their jobs in Canada in December. 80,000. This brought the unemployment rate from 0.3% to 6.6%. That's quite a jump eh ? And yet they continue striking. Ignorant. Now they are hoping to be considered essential services as they will go back to work and negotiations will forcefully continue....but they will lose their bonus. Who knows. They have rec'd their final full pay cheque recently and now we'll see what happens. The city at this point is offering to give regular citizens who have lost their jobs as a result of the strike 2 weeks pay. This strike is costing a lot of money. You can't think that the city's savings of 3 million a week is a savings. It's not. You could just go on and on about the unions ignorance and continual cutting down of the mayor and the public but you have to end it somewhere. If unions went back to basics and stopped being political and worked in good faith for their membership then maybe they would be worth their cost and burden. Their time has come and gone. They are despised by the majority. Recent studies and polls have proven this. I strongly believe they have forced so many business's and so much work out of the country that part of the recession is their fault. They are most definitely partially at fault for the pathetic manufacturing downturn in Ontario. Their wages and demands are business busting. I digress......back to OC Transpo and ATU 279. I am going to start a petition to ask the city to privatize OC Transpo. Fire all the drivers and re-hire them (if they want the job...) into a private firm at a lower rate. This would be too bad for the ones who are happy with their work and jobs, but the majority have screwed them also.
Privatize OC Transpo. Do not make them an essential service. Break their backs. The union cannot back down as they will be broken if they do. Finished. Andre Cornellier (union guy) is pretty much done anyway. He'll probably have to move if he hasn't already. Unfortunately the city will most likely have to bend to get their captive citizens freed. The union, as small minded terrorists do, will celebrate a victory. This will not be a victory you twits. This means you have to go back to work and deal with us....the public...who you have blatantly screwed. I dare any union member to debate me on the insensitivity and total lack of intelligence with regards to ATU 279 striking this long....at this time of year.
Terrorists.
Twits.
